This trail leads to the Annapurna base camp via the hills of the southern slopes of Annapurna, Gurung villages, rice paddies, terrace cultivation and rhododendron forests. It offers impressive views of Dhaulaghiri, Annapurna (both over 8000m) and other less known but equally spectacular mountains such as Machapuchare (6993m) and Nilgiri (7061M).

The route which is relatively easy, is ideal for a first trek in the Nepalese countryside.

A trek on the popular Annapurna Circuit combined with a trip to Lake Tilicho, is a wonderful trekking program in Nepal. Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu As soon as you land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our staff and representative will pick you up and transfer to your hotel. You can spend the day in briefing about the trip and enjoy the evening in Kathmandu. Stay overnight at a hotel.
  • Day 02:Kathmandu to Jagat (1,311m) Start by driving from Kathmandu through a hilly road to Mugling. Take a brief stop there and follow along the road to Pokhara. Midway, there’s a fork from where we will head in the northward route to reach Besisahar. Take a second break here and then head along the route to Jagat. Once here, we’ll check into a hotel for the night.

  • Day 03:Jagat to Dharapani (1,964m) After breakfast, we will begin by descending to a river. Cross it and get on the steeply ascending trail. Tread carefully through the narrow trail through the boulders to arrive at a relatively level surface at the top of a hill. After a brief stop here, trek along the winding trail until we arrive at the village of Karte. Move along the descending trail to a river and then arrive at Dharapani for the night.

  • Day 04:Dharapani to Chame (2,697m) Starting after breakfast, we will go through the village and cross a river coming down from the southern face of Manaslu. With wonderful views of Annapurna II, we will come to the village of Bagarchhap. From here, enter a pine & oak forest on an ascending trail until we come to the village of Tamang. Here, we’ll have great views of Mt. Lamjung and other peaks. Trek further for an hour or so to arrive arrive at Chame where we’ll stay tonight in a tea house.

  • Day 05:Chame to Pisang (3,208m) Immediately after breakfast, we will begin the day with wonderful views of the Mt. Lamjung and other peaks. As our trail ascends, we will enter a forest of pine and fir, which later thins out at a higher altitude. Take a break here and enjoy the views and continue through the cliffs to Bratang. Take another short break here and cross a stream before ascending on the winding trail through the river bank. Continue the trek until we arrive at a mani wall, indicating we’re near Pisang. Here, hop into a teahouse for the overnight stay.

  • Day 06: Pisang to Manang (3,540m) After breakfast, we will begin on the ascending trail by a steep ridge. Down below were can enjoy great vistas of Manang Valley and the surrounding landscapes. The mesmerizing sight of Mt. Tilicho is something you’ll cherish throughout the trek. At a fork ahead, we’ll choose the upper route so that we can enjoy the indelible views of Annapurna II-IV, Chulu East, Gangapurna, and Pisang Peak. With short breaks and continued treks multiple times, we will eventually come to Manang.

  • Day 07:Acclimatation in Manang It’s important to acclimatize for a day in Manang so that we can continue the trek easily on days ahead. It’s a day of rest but it’s important for you to do short trekking. Hike to a hill and see views of icefalls, and also a panoramic view of the Annapurna Range. And if you feel like it, you can even visit Gangapurna Glacier. Return to Manang later in the day.

  • Day 08:Manang (3,540m) to Khangsar Village (4,160m) to Tilicho Base camp (4,150m) After breakfast in Manang, we will continue following a river. As we cross Khangsar, we will begin the gradual ascent to a village. The views are pleasant until we arrive at this village of Khangsar at 3,700 meters. Here, take a break and probably have lunch. Then continue along the rugged landscapes, pass a monastery, ascend through the trail and arrive at Tilicho Base Camp. Unpack and rest here tonight.

  • Day 09:Tilicho Base Camp (4,150m) to Lake Tilicho (4,920m) and back to Shree Kharka (3,870m) Today’s the big day when you’ll actually reach Lake Tilicho. Unpack your bags and trek through the barren landscapes. It’s a gradual descent at first bu soon you’ll be going on an uphill climb until we arrive at Lake Tilicho. It’s the highest lake in the work, and carries religious significance too. The waters are crystal clear, as you enjoy the hard-earned glorious views and decide to retain the photos and clips for posterity. Have lunch here and return through the same route. Trek past Tilicho Base Camp and arrive at the hamlet of Shree Kharka.

  • Day 10:Shree Kharka to Ledar (4,030m) After the rewarding time at Lake Tilicho yesterday, we will head to our next stop - Thorong-La Pass. But first, we’ll have to reach the village of Leader. Begin the gradual ascent to rejoin the regular route of Annapurna Circuit. As you’ll trek in the beautiful location, you’ll have mesmerizing views of the peaks ahead. Arrive at Yak Kharka, a place traditionally used to keep yaks, but today, a village with lodges and hotels. Take a break here and trek for an hour or so to reach Ledar (or Churi Ledar) where we’ll stay for the night.

  • Day 11:Ledar to Thorong Phedi (4,542m) Wake up to the beautiful views of Annapurna III, Chulu West, and Gangapurna peaks. As you sip your morning tea, you will enjoy the time. After breakfast, we will head on the ascending trail to cross a river and more ascending trek to Thorong Phedi. In the afternoon, we’ll stop here and decide to stay tonight. One, we’ll acclimatize for the rest of the day and second, we’ll catch up on the energy needed to cross Thorong-La Pass tomorrow

  • Day 12:Ledar - Thorong Phedi(4542m) Thorong-La Pass - it’s the second highlight of this trek. Albeit a difficult one, it’s an extremely rewarding and satisfying destinations in the Annapurna Circuit. After breakfast, we’ll begin the challenging ascent through the winding trail. Going gradually, we’ll reach the pass located at 5,416 meters. This pass, among several other passes, is one of the most popular choices among climbers and trekkers to Nepal. Here, you’ll enjoy majestic views of several peaks of Annapurna Range. After a good break here, we’ll begin the descent and later arrive at the holy site of Muktinath. Here, hop into a hotel for the overnight stay, as you cherish the achievement of the day.

  • Day 13:Muktinath to Kagbeni (3,100m) to Marpha (2,690m) After breakfast, we’ll be heading to Marpha. Trekking through the amazing landscape, we’ll enjoy the scenic beauty of the place and also have wonderful views of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri peaks. We’ll cross a river, a village with monasteries and several hamlets. At the end of the day we’ll arrive at Marpha, popular for its distillery of “marpha" drink. Hop into a hotel and call it a day in this beautiful village.

  • Day 14:Marpha to Kalopani (2,540m) to Tatopani (1,190m) Starting after breakfast from Marpha, we will head towards Ghasa. We’ll follow the narrow trails and come to the villages of Larjung and Kokhethanti. Have lunch along the way and arrive at the village of Kalopani (or Kalapani). Take a short break here and enjoy the views of Annapurna Range before descending to Kali-Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world. More views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri will entice you - so will the pristine natural beauty of the place. You’ll cross waterfalls, farms, forests, and villages before you’ll arrive at Tatopani for the overnight stay. Enjoy the natural hot spring of Tatopani and go to bed.

  • Day 15:Tatopani to Ghorepani (2,875m) In the morning, we’ll begin by crossing a river and arriving at a viewpoint at the top of a hill. We’ll then descend to the large village of Sikha. Here, you can buy some drinks, chocolates, and food. After a brief break here, we’ll head on the ascending train with beautiful terraced paddies, villages, and forests of rhododendron. If you happen to be here during spring, you’ll see the forest in full bloom. A little trek further will bring you to Ghorepani, a scenic place in the Annapurna Circuit. Here, you’ll check into a lodge for the overnight stay.

  • Day 16:Poon Hill (3,200m) to Tikhedhunga (1,480m) Wake up before dawn, probably with an wake-up call. Have a quick coffee and head up to Poon Hill. On this day you’ll be having a wonderful sunrise viewing experience. Unlike other sunrise views in Nepal, Poon Hill is the go-to destination because of the sheer amount of beauty you can enjoy from this hill. From Dhaulagiri to Annapurna Massifs, you’ll witness in amazement as the sunlight makes its dance and play with some of the highest peaks on the Himalayas. Enjoy this morning and return to Ghorepani. Have your breakfast and begin the trek to Tikhedhunga. It’s a pleasant trek along an easy route through the forests and hills. Check into a hotel in Tikhedhunga for the overnight stay.

  • Day 17:Tikhedhunga to Nayapul (1,030m) to Pokhara (880m) It’s yet another day of pleasant trek. After breakfast, begin the descent through the stone stairs. The forests and villages will remind you of simple times, as you come further down to Modi Khola. Take a break here and do an hour of trek to arrive at Nayapul. Here, you’ll get on a car or a bus to Pokhara. Drive along the beautiful winding road to reach this rainy valley. Check into a hotel for the overnight stay.

  • Day 18:Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,400m) From Pokhara, you will drive back to Kathmandu. The seven-hour drive will be mostly along the banks of Budhi-Gandaki, Marshyangdi, and Trishuli rivers. Check into your hotel and spend the evening as you wish.

  • Day 19:Free Day in Kathmandu Starting after breakfast, you will go on a sightseeing tour of a few of the World Heritage Sites - Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and Bauddhanath. You will have lunch probably at a rooftop restaurant in Bhaktapur Durbar Square - overlooking old temples and the busy square below. Later, return to hotel and spend the rest of the day shopping or as you see fit.

  • Day 20:Departure (Transported to airport) As the program comes to a close, we will take you to the airport according to your flight plan.
